I am really enjoying using Skribit on the sidebar of the blog (built during SW Atlanta). Someone suggested ‘Reasons for Attending’ as a topic for me to write about, and I think this would be a good chance for a nice concise list.
3. Meet brilliant, amazing, motivated people. Find people that you know can work hard, finish projects and work well with an unknown landscape. Find a cofounder.
5. When is the last time you had a challenge such as launching a company in 54 hours with 100 or so strangers? When is the last time you saw your company on the front page?
6. Grow as a person and as a professional, see different parts of a company, feel free to join different groups and learn by doing.
One of the top Skribit suggestions for this humble blog to write about has been “Collaboration” or more specifically how founders work at the end of the weekend.
Simply enough, email and basecamp are the two main tools founders use for planning. Most weekends leave the weekend with a core team managing the project, and these teams usually set up a list to communicate. Some weekends have an ‘everybody pitch in’ ending to the weekend, which results in a much high volume of communication between members of the group. Interestingly enough, one weekend used a Facebook group to communicate.
There are a lot of offline meetings as well as the teams move forward with their companies.
