Phoenix Highlights

Posted by Dev Acct

Startup Weekend Phoenix officially ended last night and was a huge hit.  Once again, a motivated community pulled together and forged some great relationships while building some pretty impressive projects as well.

Check out their local blog for some play-by-play action on the weekend (thank you Jeremy) and below I’ve highlighted a few of the projects that emerged.

Twitrratr (as you may have guessed) is a twitter opinion tracking app that is currently online and working. Discover what people are really saying on Twitter. With Twitrratr you can distinguish negative from positive tweets surrounding a brand, product, person or topic.

Next is reservechute, an open source web application that fetches data from online applications and stores a local copy. Reserve Chute currently supports Basecamp, Gmail, Delicious, Bloglines, Google Contacts & Calendar and Yahoo Contacts & Calendar.

Edit: Say a skilled trades service technician is 40 miles from the office at a service location, and discovers that a needed part is not in the repair part stocked on his van.  Using GPSPartFinder, and only a few simple clicks on a web‐enabled mobile phone, the technician sends a query for his needed part. GPSPartFinder uses the positioning information from his location and searches the repair parts of mobile units to find the needed part on a van closer to the technician in need than the home office.

MyShelterHelper.com’s mission is to help shelters and other animal organizations create a presence on the internet for no cost.

More details about other projects from the weekend can be found on the Phoenix blog.  Thank you to Gregg Drennan and the organizatoinal crew in Phoenix, and Jeremy Tanner for facilitating.
